Empowering Me was founded by Julie in 2018 as part of her capstone and then her thesis in university. Empowering Me has always been about community supporting each other We provide resources and community support.

Julie, the founder, combines her lived experience (survivorship of childhood trauma, domestic violence, and sexual violence) with a robust professional background. She has conducted extensive, multi-year research on the subject of trauma and has served as a respected presenter and subject matter expert at numerous speaking engagements. Her professional service includes direct experience as a Crisis Intervention Worker within a domestic violence shelter setting.
